This video is broken into 6 topics intended to inform theatre workers and students of safety laws and prevent unnecessary injuries. The first segment covers current safety laws and how they apply to theatres, as well as general safety practices. The second segment covers chemical hazards and personal protection equipment, stage lighting safety, costume shop safety, and scene and prop shop safety. Specific information is provided concerning response to emergencies, fire curtain operation, fire suppression, use of flammable materials, stage rigging, first aid and blood borne diseases, lifting, protection from chemical poisoning, smoke and fog hazards, ladder use, and other additional safety issues.
