Description
In November 1922 the British archaeologist Howard Carter discovered Tut'ankhamun's (King Tut) tomb in Egypt's Valley of the Kings. Carter, with funding from his patron Lord George Edward Stanhope Carnarvon, discovered the door to Tut'ankhamun's tomb in the rubble left behind from the excavation of Ramses VI's tomb nearby. Surrounding the boy king's sarcophagus in the tomb was an enormous amount of treasure, including golden chariots, ancient art, and a throne.
